Daily Writing Prompt, Sept. 1

This is my DWP, trying to continue writing, to work on character and scene building so I can start writing a book.  The prompts come from Writers Write,

“Open the novel you are reading to page 99.  Take the first sentence at the top of the page and use it as the first sentence for a story. Write the first three paragraphs.”

“But I didn’t, Maria did. Why do you always say it’s me?”

“But I didn’t, Maria did. Why do you always say it’s me?”

“Pipe down, Margaret!” Tony snarled, “Just go help mom in the kitchen!”

Tony, with shampoo still in her hair, turned away and walked back to the bathroom.

Living in a house with seven sisters can be a pain, Maggie thought. Especially with Tony’s teenage need to hog the only bathroom on “date night.”

She crept down the hallway and quietly opened the bathroom door. Steam seeped into the hallway as she listened to Tony singing behind the fogged curtain. She inched closer and FLUSH!

She raced back down the hallway and up the stairs as quietly as she could, Tony’s screams echoed in the distance.

Sisters! Maggie thought. They never learn.
